Deleting your SyncZ account
Two ways: do it yourself in the app or on this website, or ask us and we will do it for you. Both delete the account — neither one hides it.
Do it yourself
- Sign in, in the SyncZ app or at syncz.in.
- Open your profile, then Account settings.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
It takes effect immediately. There is no waiting period and no way for us to bring the account back afterwards.
When it will not let you
Deletion is refused while other people are relying on you:
- you are organising an event that is published and has not finished;
- a post of yours is taking registrations;
- you are registered for an event that has not happened yet;
- the account is a SyncZ admin account.
The app names whichever of these applies. Cancel the event, or withdraw your registration, and deletion goes through. If you would rather not, write to the address below and we will handle it — being blocked in the app is not a refusal of your request.
Or ask us
Email admin@syncz.in from the address on your account, or tell us your username. We acknowledge within 24 hours and complete deletion within 15 days, usually much sooner. You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need the app installed.
If you are a parent or guardian asking for a child's account to be removed, the same address works and the same terms apply.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, username, bio, photo, college and department.
- Everything you posted: posts, events, comments, questions and answers.
- Your registrations, and the contact details you typed on them.
- Your saved items, follows, likes and bookmarks.
- Any images you uploaded, including verification documents, which are removed from storage.
- Your email address and your sign-in credentials.
What is kept, and why
Events you organised that have already happened stay on SyncZ, without your name on them. They are shown as run by a deleted account. If forty students attended an event, the record of it having taken place is theirs as much as yours, and it should not disappear because one person left. Nothing on the surviving row identifies you — the link back to your account is removed, not hidden.
That is the only thing retained. There is no shadow copy of your profile, no retention window, and no restoration path, which is the same reason we ask you to be sure before confirming.
